Who it is for
Operations leaders responsible for the chain end to end
The six units of 20 credits follow the chain from movement to strategy: Logistics Management, Supply Chain Planning, Modelling and Analytics, Procurement and Supply Management, Supply Chain and Operations Strategy, Sustainable Operations Management and Business Research Methods.
It suits heads of logistics, distribution or warehousing moving to broader operations roles, procurement managers who want the operational and strategic context, and supply chain managers in manufacturing, retail, healthcare or defence who are being asked to design rather than only run the chain.
It is not a professional body certification in procurement or logistics and does not replace one. It is an academic diploma at master's level in supply chain as a strategic discipline, with a sustainability unit that reflects where the discipline is going.

How LSPM sequences them
Logistics Management opens the programme, because most learners arrive from the movement end and it lets them start on familiar ground. Supply Chain Planning, Modelling and Analytics follows and introduces the quantitative tools. Procurement and Supply Management comes third. Supply Chain and Operations Strategy pulls the earlier units up to strategic level, and Sustainable Operations Management sits late so that sustainability is treated as a strategic choice rather than a compliance add-on. Business Research Methods runs alongside the final two units.
Entry requirements
Who can enrol
OTHM sets the entry requirements and London School of Planning and Management, the approved centre, applies them. As published in the specification:
- An honours degree in related subject or UK level 6 diploma or an equivalent overseas qualification
- Mature learners with management experience (learners must check with the delivery centre)
- Learners must be 21 years old or older at the beginning of the course
How LSPM applies this in practice. Logistics and procurement managers who apply usually hold a degree or Level 6 qualification in business, engineering or a related field. Those without one are considered on the strength of their current role and a conversation with an LSPM tutor. Comfort with spreadsheets is assumed for the planning and analytics unit.
Entry requirements from the official specification. If you are not sure whether your qualification counts as equivalent, send us the details and we will ask LSPM to check with the awarding body.
Assessment
Written assignments, no examinations
Assignments are the analyses a head of supply chain produces: a logistics network review, a planning and analytics model with commentary, a procurement strategy, an operations strategy and a sustainability plan. No examinations.
Your tutor at LSPM marks the work and gives written feedback. OTHM then externally verifies a sample of marked work to confirm the standard is being applied consistently. A unit is passed when all of its criteria are met.
Progression
From diploma to top-up with advanced standing
A recognising university may let holders join the final stage of an MSc in Logistics and Supply Chain Management, or a related master's, on the strength of the 120 credits. Neither LSPM nor this site guarantees admission.
Within a career the diploma most commonly supports a move from logistics or procurement management to head of supply chain or operations director.
Progression note for employers. If you are sponsoring a manager with a master's as the eventual goal, budget the top-up separately and check the university's terms before you commit. The diploma stage is where LSPM's fees and timetable apply; the top-up stage is the university's. How the pathway works.

Fit
Likely to suit, and better served elsewhere
Likely to get a lot from it
- Heads of logistics, distribution or warehousing moving to broader operations roles.
- Procurement managers who want the operational and strategic context.
- Supply chain managers being asked to design the chain, not only run it.
Better served by something else
- Anyone seeking a procurement or logistics institute certification; this does not replace one.
- Supervisors and coordinators early in their careers; a Level 5 or 6 qualification first.
- Learners whose interest is crisis and resilience specifically; the Qualifi crisis management diploma is more targeted.
Real learner quotation to be supplied. This slot must not be published until a named graduate has given written consent.
Programme questions
Frequently asked
How quantitative is the planning and analytics unit?
You will build spreadsheet models of demand, inventory and capacity and interpret them. No programming is required, but you should be comfortable with formulas and simple statistics.
Does it cover a particular procurement framework?
No single framework is taught as the answer; several are compared and you are asked to weigh them against your own organisation's needs. The diploma does not certify you in any of them and does not replace a procurement institute qualification where your employer requires it.
How does it differ from the Qualifi Logistics and Supply Chain Crisis Management diploma?
This is the broad supply chain programme; the Qualifi diploma is focused on crisis and resilience. Choose by whether you want the whole discipline or the resilience specialism.
Can I use my own supply chain for the assignments?
Yes, subject to your employer's agreement on confidentiality, and most learners do. If not, LSPM agrees a case organisation with you.
